We are having trouble locating it on a map and want to book accommodations relatively close by. Thank you so much!

Hi Karine, you can take the C10 bus from Como S. Giovanni station to Griante in about an hour. Regarding luggage, however, I refer you to the bus company’s travel conditions (search for “luggage” on the page).

We will coming from Milan on 13th Sept staying in Griante and we’re hoping to arrive by train but it seems there is no station in Griante. We are travelling with children and will have luggage. What would be your recommendation to come from Milan to Griante?

I will be traveling from Milano Centrale to Bellagio. Our hotel advises us to take the train to Lecco and then the bus from Lecco to Bellagio. Is there a bus number? Where is the bus stop? Unfortunately, I don’t speak much Italian (lots of Spanish though.) We want the scuola bus stop. We are staying at the Hotel Fioroni. Do you know how often the busses run and how much they cost? I understand the bus trip is about 50 minutes, correct? Grazie

Thank u for the information. Gives me more assurance to remain in Mandello during that period 🙂

Hello, most of the stores and restaurants will surely be open, plus consider that from Mandello you can get to Varenna conveniently by train and, from there, you can reach other destinations in the center of the lake in a few minutes by boat. Just be sure to plan trips a few days in advance because buses and boats operate less frequently in winter.

Hello Allie, you don’t need to reach Milano Centrale. You have to get off the train at Saronno, and then take the train to Como Lago.
