Travel times for the most common destinations:

BUS SERVICE ON THE EASTERN BRANCH
Linee Lecco & Arriva

On the eastern branch of Lake Como, bus service is less frequent and is operated by two companies: Linee Lecco (which covers the metropolitan area of Lecco) and Arriva, which connects towns on the eastern side of this branch.

D10 Lecco-Bellagio

This route starts from the city of Lecco (bus stop is outside the train station) and gets to Bellagio in 45-50’.

The bus passes through most towns on the left side of the eastern branch of Lake Como. Always remember to check the Linee Lecco bus schedule on lineelecco.it.

Travel times for the most common destinations:

Lecco – Onno: 20’
Lecco – Limonta: 30’
Lecco – Bellagio: 50’

D20 Lecco-Mandello & D21 Bellano-Varenna

There are a couple of minor routes that connect some of the most popular towns on the eastern side of Lake Como.

In this area, I would not recommend travelers to cover long distances by bus, since the most common way to move from town to town is definitely by train. However, if you want to move from Lecco to Mandello del Lario or from Varenna to Bellano, you can also do it by bus (check timetables below).

Travel times for the most common destinations:

Bellano – Varenna: 20’

LAKE COMO BUS SERVICE
Tickets & Fares

Ticket prices generally vary depending on the length of your journey. You can buy tickets in most tobacco shops or newsstands.

Both ASF and Linee Lecco/Arriva give you the chance to find the nearest ticket office within the area in which they operate (click here to see where you can buy ASF tickets and here for the Linee Lecco tickets). Otherwise, for most popular routes you can purchase bus tickets through the Arriva My Pay app, available for Android and iOS devices.

Generally you can also buy tickets onboard but price will be a little higher and you can only pay them by cash.

  3. Ayush

Hello Alessandro, I plan to visit Menaggio on 24th June. I wish to travel from Como to Menaggio by C10 at 20.30 hrs. Although, the website doesn’t let me book it. Is this the correct timing ? If yes can you guide on rates and how to cook it?

    1. Alessandro - Lake Como Travel

Hello Ayush, summer schedules have yet to come out! But, in any case, I suggest you to check timetables and buy your ticket via the Arriva My Pay app (above you can find the links to download it).

  4. Ava

Hi Alessandro – I am looking to get to Lezzeno from Lake Como on a Sunday (1st of July 2023). I have not been able to locate the summer schedule to confirm that the C30 is operating on this day. Are you able to advise if this trip will be possible? Or when the summer schedule will be available? Thank you in advance!

    1. Alessandro - Lake Como Travel

Hello Ava, summer timetables are out right now 🙂

  5. Alessandro - Lake Como Travel

Hi again Laetita, I’m really afraid that there are no buses from Bellagio to Lecco before 9 a.m. on Sundays, I have just checked the new timetables (see second page, the column under the cross). I think you’d better reserve a taxi in order to get to Lecco at that time of the day!

  6. Stuart

Hi, is it possible to pay on board the bus?

    1. Alessandro - Lake Como Travel

Yes, but only by cash. However I suggest you to download the Arriva MyPay app so you can purchase the ticket in advance.

I’m not able to register to Arriva My Pay unfortunately.
    Thanks.

  9. Winnie

Hi Alessandro, we want to travel by bus from Lecco to Bellagio then fast ferry from Bellagio to Como. Where can I buy bus ticket from Lecco to Bellagio? Where can I buy fast ferry ticket from Bellagio to Como? Can I buy one day in advance?
    Thank you
    Winnie

    1. Alessandro - Lake Como Travel

Hello, you can buy the bus ticket at one of the ticket offices in the area. As for the fast boat ticket, unfortunately you cannot do it online. You will have to go to the Bellagio ticket office and purchase it directly there. Try to arrive at least 20-25 minutes before boarding. I hope this will help!

  10. Antonella

Hello good afternoon, thank you very much for all the fabulous information you gave. I tell you to enter the app that you said Arriva My Pay, but the D10 bus is not on the Lecco-Bellagio section and other not so good options appear. Do you think I looked for it on another page? Thank you very much again

    1. Alessandro - Lake Como Travel

Hi Antonella, unfortunately not all lines are available for purchase on the app. I recommend that you purchase your ticket from one of the retailers.

  11. Antonella

Thank you very much I will do so.

  12. Diane

Good afternoon! We are visiting Villa del Balbianello on Sunday, October 8th at 11:15 am. from Menaggio. I’m seeing the bus schedule with only two early times Sunday morning, 7 am and 730 and then a 1 pm time. Are the bus schedules limited on Sunday. Additionally whatever date I select it shows the day earlier as departure date, but then off to the side us the correct date I’ve entered. I’d love to keep it easy and not require assistance for a simple bus schedule/route. Thank you so much!

    1. Alessandro - Lake Como Travel

Hi, I’m seeing the C10 festive timetables and I see that there is a ride that departs at 10:35 from Menaggio and reaches Lenno at 10:50. I think you should take this!

  13. Kristi

Can we take luggage on the C10 bus from Menaggio to Como?

    1. Alessandro - Lake Como Travel

Hi Kristi, I quote what I found on the FAQ page of asfautolinee.it: “Only one piece of luggage can be carried free of charge as long as the size does not exceed 50x30x25 cm. For any additional luggage and luggage exceeding the above dimensions, a corresponding ticket must be purchased at the current fare”. For any additional information, please write to the company directly.

  14. Katie

Hi, Im planning on arriving into the Como San Giovanno train station at 14:08pm and hope to catch a bus to Menaggio on the Monday 30th of Oct. Where do I buy tickets? Can I buy them on the bus?

    1. Alessandro - Lake Como Travel

Hi Katie, I recommend that you download the Arriva MyPay app and purchase your ticket before boarding the bus 🙂

  15. Monica

Hello, Maybe you can help me with something. Do you know if the busses to Bellagio are operational during winter? I am planning a visit for next week and I read that the ferry is not operational. Thanks in advance!

    1. Alessandro - Lake Como Travel

Hi Monica, yes, buses are always operational in winter 🙂

    1. Alessandro - Lake Como Travel
